Colin Williams and Jan Windebank

Colin C Williams is Professor of Public Policy in the School of Management at the University of Sheffield. His research interests are in livelihood approaches to poverty alleviation in general, and the role played by the informal sector more particularly. His recent books include Informal Work in Developed Nations (2009, Routledge), Rethinking the Future of Work (2007, Palgrave Macmillan) and The Hidden Enterprise Culture (2006, Edward Elgar). Jan Windebank is Professor of French and European Society at the University of Sheffield. Her research interests are in gender aspects of livelihood practices. Her books include Poverty and the Third Way (2003, Routledge), Community Self-Help (2004, Palgrave Macmillan) and Revitalising Deprived Neighbourhoods (2001, Ashgate).
