ive been homeless myslef and yes i slept on the streets people may ask why when there is support out there i have a mental health disorder BPD heres the story and the help that was avalible go into a homeless shelter for two years.Why would i want to go into a homeless shelter when i cant cope in a menatal hospital with people very well and i was raped and i was in a hostel and i was nerly killed thats how bad some of these places are like so would you like to stay in one of these places your self to be hounest there needs to be more help for people like me out there i would rather sleep on the street and freeze then to go in a hostel or night shelter we need more help its an issue maybe the goverment should look at

It’s all very well offering counselling and reducing waiting lists, but unless you can also get them off the streets into somewhere safe and calm then it’s very difficult to make a difference. But pushing mental health out onto the streets and into the prisons is just another symptom of how we treat the topic. Most people still don’t want to know.

mental health problems..as a former inmate at one of St Mungos Hostels,want a mental health problem,try to live in Hostel,want with people with many social problems,and by St Mungos own admission BULLING is rife, from staff,and residents..glad i left,before end on term

In my opinion Britain is not a 3rd World Country so, we should be working to help others overcome their personal issues. Mental ill-health does not need to be a problem for anyone if it is correctly treated & when addition help is required it needss to be available. your service is providing it at St Mungo’s. Good luck with all the fundraising I wish i could be there.
