The end of this week (26 February) is the deadline both for commenting on our new draft paper on the impact and response to the global economic crisis, and to take the ultra-quick online survey to help sharpen up the contents of this blog. After that, I promise not to request participation of any kind for at least a month.

A former UK ambassador to Russia once asked a conferenceo n Russia whether it (Russia) wanted to be Norway or Nigeria thus demonstrating a certain lack of diplomatic spirit…! Personally I would be delighted if we were more like Norway, finally shedding all those post-imperial nervous ticks; and, focusing on delivery of services at home (rather than re-cycling endless initiatives) and doing good about the globe!
