I find this topic of private vs public water and sanitation provision very interesting. But I wander where the real issue is? Is the problem with the service provider? Looking at water (and sanitation) as a human right, it is the duty of a government to respect, protect and fulfil the right to water. So if a government decides to fulfil this right through privatisation, it is still its responsibility (through policies and regulations). So would the real issue be about governments capacity and will to fulfil their obligations?</description>
