Oxfam is definitely onto a big issue. Large land allocations in a world of "deals capitalism" creates huge risks both to current land holders and users whose traditional rights can be trampled and to entrenching existing commercial interests through preferential access to land. The question of how to improve the rights to and allocation of land, like those of the use of natural resources like oil and diamonds, should definitely be on the agenda of global governance.
