Hassina and Abrihim lost their home and all of their belonging when the floods hit last July. After several months living in camps and on the side of the bypass they returned to their village to find nothing left. Now Hassina and Abrahim are desperately trying to rebuild their lives and have been working hard to earn money for food and towards rebuilding their house.
Both Abrahim and Hassina have taken part in Oxfam’s cash for work initiative.
I am trying to find some harvesting work so that I can earn some money for my children. Before the flood I worked during the day harvesting wheat and rice but now I think I will have to go further away from my village for work as there is nothing around here.” says Abrahim
