I, too, puzzled over the misinfographic. Starting in Afghanistan, moving through the iron ore belt of Scandinavia to the watery wastes of the North Atlantic then back across Archangel and we must be at about Novy Urengoy in 2012. I can’t see what was pulling the centre of gravity that far north. It is like so much of The Economist – impressive on the surface but incomprehensible in any detail.
