LRA survivors record their own stories

In June last year Oxfam gave small video cameras to a community in north-east DRC, where the Lords Resistance Army continues to attack villages and abduct people. We wanted to give people the chance to tell their own stories. Below are three stories filmed by Aimee, Animomu and Michel.

This is Aimee, whose daughter was kidnapped and held captive for two years before being reunited with her mother

This is Animomu, who escaped from an attack on Duru with her daughter, while pregnant

This is Michel, who fled with his wife as the LRA destroyed their home
