Rwanda: Return to the field of dreams
July 6th, 2010 by admin Posted in Education, RwandaDuring the 1994 genocide, Rwebare school was burnt to the ground, killing dozens of refugees as they sheltered in the classrooms. The school was completely destroyed. Oxfam and The Daily Mirror teamed up to rebuild it and today the school is thriving, with over 1600 pupils now attending. This week The Daily Mirror returned to the school to see how it has changed, and to see Rwebare triumph in the local football tournament.
