and.. Action!

What a show. Lights, cameras, and action. The band and the crew did a fantastic job tonight. As if the crowd weren’t excited enough by doing the ‘wave’ before the show. They then had the pleasure of watching Coldplay at their best. What a great way to start the week..

The light show was awesome tonight. The Forum lending itself perfectly to all sorts of illuminated activity. I thought they’d be ironing out problems for the first couple of weeks. It looks like they’ve nailed it already. On the way out, people were still singing the chanting chorus to ‘Viva La Vida’. It didn’t take them long to learn those words.. (w-o-a-h, w-o-a-h!).

We had a really positive bunch of Oxfam volunteers too, who signed up 705 people for further action. The end of the night made my day, with www.oxfam.org/coldplay being projected on a huge rotating sphere in the middle of the arena. Once the confetti butterflies had fluttered down and the stage swept clean for tomorrow, it was off back to the hotel. I’m too tired to keep typing, but I just wanted to let you know how awesome it was!

I knew their first night would be insane! Living in Australia, though, I think we’re going to have to wait a while until they reach us again.

Amazing that you got 705 more people who signed up - all the best for you!

the show was incredible, but more incredible even then that, was the enthusiasm of the fans to help and do the right thing. I volunteered for OxFam and it was such a great experience. The fans we so nice and open to hear about how THEY could help make real change for the better. Thanks everyone that signed up, and thanks to all the volunteers. You all give me hope!!!

Oh and Pete, the most recent pictures aren’t working in the gallery from the show… Nice to meet you man!

Its been EXCITING see a lot of concert-goers responding well about Oxfam! More people ARE becoming interested in the work this wonderful organization dedicates themselves into doing, and also wanting to become involved in making a positive difference too in their communities and environment! THANK YOU ALL! <3

P.S.: Pete, Brian, Adam, and the rest of the Oxfam volunteers….it was wonderful to meet you all on Tuesday night, and congratulations on the work we did that night! I wish you all the best of luck for the upcoming work, and take care. =]

Hi Pete,
It was a great night, my first time volunteering ever for anything. It felt like something I could really help to bring awareness to. And it was fun to see Coldplay again, and meet you and the team! I was wondering how many peeps we signed up for OXFAM.
Was just at the Mile High Music festival in Denver — there would have been nice synergy in that audience for OXFAM too…. very active community of music lovers, it seemed.
Hope to see you again soon! Enjoy the tour (post more pics–maybe the one we all took together?).
My best,
Kristin

I was happy to read that John is enjoying this tour more than any of his previous tours. Unfortunately, my 15 year old son will not be able to enjoy it as he can’t afford $92 for a ticket. come on boys. that’s way too expensive, even for a big band like you.
